Now Fiat and Chrysler have had time to sort out what the future holds for their joint future we are starting to see some concrete details emerging from the US. Chrysler revealed its grand five year plan this week and it seems clear that the only Chrysler brand that will see the light of day outside the US will be the Jeep. But even the Jeep is going to find itself endowed with Fiat underpinnings from 2013.

In what is probably the least surpring move by Ford the Mercury moniker has been consigned to the history books as Ford continues to rebuild not just its balance book but its brand. This is the first - somewhat restricted - look at the new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S, due to be unveiled at this autumn’s Paris motor show. It’s a smarter adaptation of the existing Outlander plug-in hybrid road car. Mitsubishi describes it thus: ‘The Outlander PHEV Concept-S is a concept model MMC proposes as a special package of the Outlander PHEV production model that has a refined interior and exterior design that magnifies the Outlander PHEV’s unique driving experience.’
